Apex Legends “Raise Hell” Event: Everything New in the Halloween Takeover
Apex Legends’ Raise Hell event brings Reapers vs. Demons, spooky Kings Canyon, new skins, and rewards from Oct 14–Nov 4, 2025.

Apex Legends Ranked asks a deceptively simple question: can your squad survive and win consistently against stronger opposition? A great fight helps, but a string of early eliminations can erase your progress. In 2026, climbing still means balancing kills, placement and the cost of entering each match. The bigger conversation, though, is about fairness. Respawn has spent the year testing how to make lobbies more competitive without making Ranked harder to play with friends.
The rank ladder runs from Rookie through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Master. Apex Predator is the title held by the top 750 Master players on each platform. Most ranks have four divisions, and you move through them by earning Ranked Points, or RP. New players must complete Road to Ranked challenges to unlock the mode, while players who already had access keep it. EA’s Ranked guide explains the current tiers and entry requirements.
Every match starts with an RP entry cost. As of EA’s current guide, that cost rises from zero in Rookie to 10 in Bronze, 20 in Silver, 38 in Gold, 48 in Platinum, 65 in Diamond and 90 in Master or Predator. That rising cost changes the meaning of a “good game.” An aggressive match that produces a small gain in Silver may be a loss at a higher rank. The climb rewards players who can repeat strong results, not simply produce one spectacular highlight.
RP comes from your squad’s final placement, your kills and assists, and certain bonuses. Eliminations become more valuable the higher your squad finishes. Participation in a teammate’s kill can also count, though for less than a personal kill or assist. EA lists bonuses for eliminating higher-ranked opponents and for consecutive top-five finishes. Healing and reviving matter enormously to your chances of winning, but they do not directly award RP. EA’s scoring breakdown makes the incentive clear: take fights you can finish, then stay alive long enough for those eliminations to pay off.
Ranked matchmaking is based on current RP, while a hidden skill value helps determine where players begin a season. If you have played Ranked before, your Ranked skill value informs that starting placement; if you are new, the game uses your Unranked Trios skill value. Your rank partially resets at the start of a season and again around its midpoint. Rewards are based on the highest rank you reached in either split. EA’s Ranked guide sets out those reset and reward rules.
The opening drop can differ, too. Some matches use the familiar dropship, with a Jumpmaster choosing the landing spot. When a lobby reaches a threshold of Diamond, Master or Predator players, it can instead use Drop Zones: squads receive designated points of interest before selecting Legends. EA says this spreads loot opportunities more evenly. Because the system depends on the lobby, a player may encounter both drop styles. It is worth checking the loading screen and adjusting your early-game plan accordingly. EA explains both drop formats here.
Maps have also become a more frequent part of the Ranked experience. Following a 2026 test, EA adopted a four-and-a-half-hour Ranked map rotation, giving players more chances to see different maps during a typical play schedule. For the second split of Season 30, Marked, the listed Ranked maps are World’s Edge, Olympus and Broken Moon. EA’s matchmaking update and midseason patch notes document those changes.

The toughest issue in 2026 has been the gap between solo players and coordinated squads. A three-person team communicating every rotation and push has an advantage that the rank badges in a lobby cannot fully show. In September, EA reported that a squad made up of a premade duo and a solo player wins 19% more often than three solo players; a full premade trio wins 17% more often. Those figures help explain why a lobby can look balanced on paper but feel lopsided in a fight. EA published the test results.
Respawn tested a Diamond-and-above solo-queue restriction during Season 29, along with a tighter limit on rank differences within premade squads. The solo-queue experiment broke up top-tier stacks, but its side effects mattered. High-ranked players appeared across more squads, so Diamond players encountered them more often. Ranked participation also fell among players who usually queued with friends. EA has since said it will not make that version of the solo-queue rule permanent. Further matchmaking changes are planned for Seasons 31 and 32, but their precise effects should be judged when the details arrive. EA’s September assessment is unusually candid about the trade-off.
First, treat RP as a measure of consistency. An early fight is worthwhile when your team has a clear advantage and a way to leave if another squad arrives. Surviving into a strong placement makes those eliminations more valuable, while top-five streaks can add bonus RP. Second, pay attention to the lobby and drop format. A designated Drop Zone calls for a different first minute than a dropship match where several squads can choose the same building.
Finally, remember that Ranked is still evolving. Weekly Ranked Ladders add smaller, skill-based leaderboards alongside the ordinary climb; EA currently scores them using your five best RP results. Meanwhile, a larger Ranked update is slated for Season 32. The rules that determine your next match are real, but the long-term shape of the mode is still being tested. For now, the most dependable path upward is straightforward: fight with your team, protect your placement and make each entry cost count. EA’s Ranked guide and 2026 roadmap update provide the current details.
