What's Coming in Apex Legends Season 24?

Apex Legends' Season 24, titled "Takeover," is set to launch on February 11, 2025, bringing a plethora of updates and enhancements to the game. Here's a comprehensive overview of what's new:

1. Collaboration with Content Creators

Throughout Season 24, select content creators will introduce unique challenges for players. By completing these bi-weekly challenges, both individually and as a community, players can unlock exclusive rewards, including up to 20 Apex Packs and a Legendary Weapon Skin chosen by the creators. Additionally, themed Twitch Drops and a set of Creator-themed trackers will be available to share with friends.

2. Introduction of Arsenals

New weapon stations, known as Arsenals, will be scattered across the map, providing players with direct access to specific weapons, corresponding ammunition, and basic attachments. These stations are visible from the sky, allowing squads to strategize their landing spots accordingly.

3. R-301 Mythic Weapon

The R-301 receives a Mythic-tier upgrade inspired by Wraith. This fully equipped weapon features three unlockable levels, each offering new aesthetics, animations—from reloads to enemy takedown effects—and unique sound effects. Purchasing the R-301 Mythic grants additional items, including a free artillery grenade skin during the event and the ability to equip the new takedown animation on any R-301 skin owned.

4. Weapon Balancing and Armor System Overhaul

Significant adjustments have been made to weapon damage, headshot multipliers, and magazine sizes to ensure a balanced arsenal. The armor system has also been revamped:

  • Helmet Changes: White, blue, and purple helmets have been removed. Now, headshot damage has a consistent value across the board. A new Mythic Red Helmet has been introduced, which upgrades the player's armor to red but doesn't offer headshot damage reduction.
  • Armor Level Cap in Final Rounds: To intensify end-game scenarios, armor is capped at Level 3 (Purple). The only way to obtain Level 4 (Red) shields is by acquiring the new Mythic Red Helmet from Mythic Containers and late-game care packages.

5. Assault Legends Enhancements

The Assault class receives notable upgrades:

  • New Perks:
    • Stowed Reload: Automatically reloads stowed weapons over time.
    • Combat Reserve: Provides two additional slots for grenades.
  • Battle Surge: Upon breaking an enemy's shield, Assault Legends gain a temporary speed boost and faster reload times.

Specific Legends like Ash and Ballistic have been fine-tuned:

  • Ash: Gains a new passive movement ability and improvements to her ultimate.
  • Ballistic: Becomes more versatile with the integration of his Sling weapon into his base kit.

6. Ranked Mode Overhaul

A new "Road to Ranked" system has been implemented, requiring new players to complete specific challenges before accessing Ranked mode. This ensures that all participants possess a foundational understanding and skill level. Matchmaking has been refined to reduce queue times and better assess player skill in limited-time modes. Transparency has been enhanced by displaying player skill levels in unranked matches.

7. Events and Collaborations

Season 24 will feature collaborative events with content creators, introducing new Mythic weapon variants designed by Rampart and a weapon mastery system. The Anniversary Event offers players the chance to obtain 36 Legendary or higher-tier items, including a set of Heirloom Shards and the debut R-301 Mythic. During the Mythic Exhibition, public matches will feature supply drops containing all R-301 variants, each equipped with distinct Hop-Ups: Red for aggression, Yellow for speed, and Green for support.

8. Battle Pass Split 1

The first split of the Battle Pass offers over 60 items. At Level 40, players can unlock the Legendary "Mighty Player" skin for Conduit, and at Level 60, the reactive Alternator skin "Sliding Strike." Additional rewards include the Legendary "Training Gear" skin for Newcastle and more. Progressing through the Battle Pass grants 10 Legendary Exotic Shards, along with various skins, banners, emotes, weapon charms, and more.

With these extensive updates, Respawn Entertainment aims to rejuvenate Apex Legends, keeping veteran players engaged while attracting newcomers to the arena.
